Lemon Teriyaki Chicken

Why this recipe works

This recipe offers a bright and tangy take on classic teriyaki chicken, perfect for a flavorful weeknight meal. The sauce combines lemon juice, soy sauce, sugar, and ginger to create a sweet and savory glaze. The instructions guide you through simmering the chicken (breasts, thighs, or tenders) directly in the sauce and include an optional step for thickening the glaze with cornstarch after the chicken is removed, ensuring it's well-coated before serving.

Ingredients

Steps

  1. Combine all ingredients except chicken.
  2. Cook over medium heat 3 to 4 minutes. DO NOT overcook!
  3. Add chicken, simmer 30 minutes for entire breast, 15 minutes for chicken tenders, 20 minutes for thighs. Chicken is done when fork inserted comes out easily.
  4. Remove chicken. Add 1 Tbsp corn starch and cook on high until thick. Put chicken back in, stir until chicken is coated with sauce.
